Welcome to the Fraternity of Light

The Fraternity of Light was founded in 1977 as a non-profit non-denominational organization within the Sufi tradition of Pir-O-Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan. Its central viewpoint is:

There is no reality but God

and all live, move, and have their being within

that One reality.

God exists within the heart of every human being

and can be found there by knowing how to look within.

In addition to introductory classes on anti-stress, mastery and accomplishment, holistic health, and meditation, the Fraternity of Light also offers a school of study through which one may enter the inner path. This school provides training in the knowledge of truth through three separate branches: The Purpose of Life, The Way of Christ, and the Sufi Way. Individuals may enter the school best suited for them after completing the introductory courses. The inner school may be entered without giving up obligations to one's church, and is complimentary to all faiths.

Activities available

Introduction to the Inner Path. This class introduces and explains the inner school or path of mysticism.

The Path. For those having completed the Introduction to the Inner Path and wishing to enter one of the inner schools, initiation may be taken. By initiation, it is meant a reciprocal confidence between the teacher and the pupil which stands as a sacred bond.

Universal Service. This is a devotional activity where each of the great world religions and their messengers are honored. Those attending share in readings from the holy scriptures and the use of sacred phrases from each world religion.

Healing Service. This is a healing service held periodically by a Fraternity of Light Healing Coordinator. This is a spiritual service not related to faith healing.
